Lovely spot in a great location
My husband and I stayed a week in Liberty Lodge. Ruth was very good about answering my questions by email ahead of time (since I booked well in advance.) The room was comfortable and it was nice to have the living room and dining area available as well. The Lodge is located in a great area with lots of shops and restaurants and is walkable to many sites such as the Hop-on-Hop-off bus stop, etc.

Breakfasts were very tasty with fresh fruit, cooked eggs, bacon, etc. Ruth was very helpful in booking taxis, advising about restaurants, things to do and see, etc.

We highly recommend Liberty Lodge for your stay in Cape Town!

Ideal spot in a great city
Liberty Lodge was a terrific find - I wouldn't hesitate to book again if I ever revisit Cape Town. The guest house is situated close to both Table Mountain and Kloof St, featuring some lovely restaurants, along with supermarkets, pharmacy, etc. At the same time, it's a walk down hill to down town or an inexpensive taxi/uber fare away. Ruth was a delightful host - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and with a good sense of humour. She provided many useful suggestions re Cape Town visits and other locations - and even assisted with taxi bookings and car hire. The Lodge was impeccably clean and tastefully decorated throughout - and very comfortable. The terrace has a fabulous view of the mountain and was perfect for a pre-dinner drink (which you can chill yourself in the communal fridge). Breakfasts were lovely - a great start to a day of touring about with cereals, fruit and hot and cold offerings. Terrific value - given all the points noted above - and each day it was lovely to return "home".

A comfortable and stylish stay in Cape Town
My mom and I stayed for one week in the lodge, and we really enjoyed it. The room was clean and the whole lodge was nicely decorated. Breakfast was freshly done every morning, and the terrace featured a great view of the Table Mountain. A really nice area: street was quiet at night, quite a few incredibly nice breakfast cafes and restaurants within 5 mins from the lodge.

Was easy to get to the city center - when not lazy, we walked. Tea/coffee facilities were available at all times, and I have certainly helped myself with a glass of complimentary sherry in the living room:)

A special thanks to Ruth, who really showed a lot of care and attention to us. Highly recommended!

A superb place for a Cape Town stay
This really is a wonderful B&B. We first stayed here in 2009 and were so impressed that when we recently had the chance to come back to Cape Town it was the obvious choice - and it certainly did not disappoint. Ruth really makes you feel welcome and could not be more helpful. Incidentally, once you have stayed you will not be forgotten - she was able to tell us after an 8 year gap which room we had had in 2009 and whether we had gone for twin beds! And when our flight was delayed and hence we could not make our first evening restaurant booking, she rearranged it for the following night. Liberty Lodge is very well placed for exploring Cape Town and there is no need for a car - Ruth is there morning and evening to book taxis from a very efficient company which never failed us. And there is a lot reachable by walking. Beds are very comfortable. There can be some traffic noise from a nearby busy road if you have open windows but this is a minor inconvenience by comparison with all that Liberty Lodge offers. Breakfasts are excellent and Ruth is very well assisted in running Liberty Lodge by her charming and friendly staff. The view from the very pleasant first floor balcony is stunning: the central part of the Lion's Head/Signal Hill one way and the Devil's Peak close to Table Mountain the other way. Ruth knows her Cape Town restaurants well and is very willing to make booking in advance
